For MondiLab I selected images of portrait bust of both Marie-Antoinette and Napoleon. In stead of images of the front I selected images of the reverse (back) side of the busts.
This perspective gives the busts an abstraction that makes the statues seem more modern, they seem to be lifted out of their time and transferred to the present-day. This viewpoint also gives the beholder the license to look as long as they want without any restraints as there are no piercing eyes of the portrayed staring back at them.
Print of the reverse side of a portrait bust of Marie-Antoinette.
